EA have decided to remove a popular formation from Ultimate Team for the new EA FC 25, while three existing positions have also been axed.
EA FC 25 releases in September, with the initial reveal trailer being unveiled on Wednesday night.
Among the high-profile additions to Ultimate Team include the new Rush game mode, which will see two 5v5 teams do battle.

EA have also updated their formation charts, with the company introducing new systems in recent years that have been used in real life.
This year, however, that has come at an expense of a popular formation among players - which has now been axed entirely.
The system in question is the 4-3-2-1 formation, which features two centre forwards playing behind a central striker.

Older players of the FIFA series will remember the left forward/right forward variant of the system, with the formation undergoing a slight tweak when those two positions were removed from the game.
Part of the reason behind its removal is likely due to the fact that the centre forward position has also been removed from EA FC, which will be a controversial decision among players.
As per FIFAUltimateTeam, fans were critical of the 4-3-2-1 system in EA FC 24 as it provided significantly more balance in the competitive Champions mode compared to some other formations. It is unclear whether that reaction played any role in EA's decision to remove the system.
EA have also decided to axe the left wing-back and right wing-back positions, despite those being used regularly by teams in real-life.

They will now be assigned as player roles instead, although players will still have the option to use five-at-the-back formations.
Players can now be assigned different roles depending on their position in the team - in a change to the system of player instructions which influences how players act on the pitch.
