An update has emerged about West Ham striker Michail Antonio after he was involved in a car crash on December 7.
Antonio, 34, was hospitalised after the accident in his Ferrari in Epping Forest, Essex.
Following the incident, West Ham released a statement which said the player was “under close supervision at a central London hospital” after undergoing surgery on a lower limb fracture as a result of the accident.
The timeframe or whether Antonio will return to professional football is still unclear, but an update on his future has emerged.

According to The Times, the forward has now been discharged from a London hospital and is "recovering" from his injuries at home.
The report also suggests that the player will not feature for the Hammers again this season, although the club have been “considering extending his contract” beyond the 2024/25 campaign with his current deal set to expire in June 2025.
Several big names from the footballing world have offered their support to the Jamaican international. The Irons raised almost £60,000 when they auctioned signed jerseys and kit worn during the club's 2-1 win against Wolves at the London Stadium on December 9, just two days after the crash. The funds will be shared between the NHS and Air Ambulances UK, after the player was taken by an air ambulance to hospital after the collision.

The match worn shirt of Jarrod Bowen, who scored the winning goal against Wolves, was sold for £3,005 bringing the overall tally to £29,613. The amount has since been matched by the football club.
Hammers' midfielder Tomas Soucek dedicated the win against Wolves to Antonio and revealed that the forward spoke to the team via a video call ahead of the Premier League fixture.
Speaking in a press conference on December 13, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui gave Antonio his best wishes.
"We are going to visit him today or tomorrow," he said.

"The main thing is that he is recovering well, so we are all happy. We are very close to him and his family, and we wish them all the best.
"I think the best news is that he was able to talk to us before the Wolves match, on Monday. Looking at the car crash, it was a miracle [he is OK], so we are happy for him.
"For sure he’s strong, and he’s recovering. The priority is for him to recover as a man, before as a player again."
