But one club has had the start of their season derailed as a top player suffered a freak accident that has left him in intensive care.
According to The Mirror, Saudi Arabian footballer Fahad Al-Muwallad was rushed to hospital on Thursday after falling from the second floor balcony of his home in Dubai.
The Al Shabab forward was immediately admitted to Rashid Hospital, where he remains in intensive care with multiple fractures.

A statement from the Al Shabab read: "Fahad al-Muwallad has suffered a health incident that required his hospitalisation in Dubai. We wish him a speedy recovery.”
The 30-year-old joined the club in 2022 from Saudi rivals Al Ittihad and has made 38 appearances, scoring twice.
Al-Muwallad made 244 for his previous club, scoring 76 goals and assisting a further 44, and made history during his tenure that by becoming the first-ever Saudi footballer to play in the La Liga after a season loan with Spanish side Levante.
The winger has also represented Saudi Arabia intentionally, captaining them on some occasions during his 74 appearances for the country including during the 2018 World Cup.

His current club Al Shabab are presently twelfth in the Saudi Pro League, having lost their opening game of the season to Al Ettifaq before claiming a 1-0 victory Al-Khaleej in their second match.
In their next fixture, the Saudi face Al Qadisiyah, who have started the season with back-to-back wins without conceding a single goal.
Al Shabab boasts several players who used to start for top clubs in Europe, including ex-Atletico Madrid midfielder Yannick Carrasco and former Premier League players Wesley Hoedt and Daniel Podence.
