Beckham, son of legendary England star David and former Spice Girl Victoria, started training with the club in 2023.

He had previously played for his dad's Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, but decided to make the move over to England to play for the Premier League side.

But now, the 22-year-old has decided to make a big career change away from football and focus his attention on something new.

Despite being offered a new contract with current club Brentford, where he had played matches for the B team, Beckham has decided instead to follow in his mum's footsteps and pursue a career in fashion.

A source speaking to The Sun said: “Romeo has decided to hang up his football boots and devote his time to his fashion career.

“He has loved his time at Brentford but needs to focus his attention on fashion, which is where his passion lies.

“Romeo has recently signed with a top fashion agent in Paris and has his sights set on working with some massive brands.”

Beckham has already dipped his toe into the world of fashion on several occasions, having appeared in a Burberry campaign at the age of ten and later being named Britain’s 26th best dressed man in 2011.

More recently, the youngster landed a £1.2million deal to be the face of Puma in 2021 and modelled for Yves Saint Laurent and Vogue in the same year.

However, the career change won't see Beckham completely leave the London club as he will continue to work with the Brentford Penguins, a team for children aged five and above with Down's Syndrome.

Speaking on the High Performance podcast last year, Brentford’s director of football Phil Giles praised Romeo for how he acted during his time at the club.

He said: "Had he come in and been like, ‘I’m a Beckham,’ that would have been a disaster for us.

“But he is not like that at all.

“He’s like his dad in that he is a humble guy with a good work ethic and wants to do extra hours on the training round.”
