Pedro Porro has broken his silence after being left out of Spain’s provisional squad for the upcoming European Championships.
Spain manager Luis de la Fuente named a squad of 29 which included Manchester City midfielder Rodri, Chelsea's Marc Cucurella and on-loan Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya ahead of the summer’s Euros in Germany.
The provisional squad, which needs to be cut by three players before a June 7 deadline, also included Barcelona youngsters Lamine Yamal, 16, and Pau Cubarsi, 17 as well as former Newcastle attacker Ayoze Perez.

However, there were notable omissions, with Aston Villa’s Pau Torres, Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Asensio and Tottenham’s Porro all being left out.
And the latter has now broken his silence on social media.
In an X post translated from Spanish, Porro said: “I was very excited about the possibility of being able to represent my country in the European Championships, but in the end it won't be possible this time.
“Respect and admiration for all my colleagues who will be defending our colours. From here I will be one more person supporting the team and I hope we have great joy. Come on guys!”

Spain boss De la Fuente was appointed as Luis Enrique's successor in December 2022 following La Roja’s dismal World Cup exit against Morocco in the last 16.
He led the country to Nations League success last year - their first international trophy since a golden era 11 years ago.
Indeed, Spain won the Euros in 2008 and 2012, as well as the World Cup in 2010. However this time out, they find themselves in a relatively tricky group alongside holders Italy, Croatia and Albania.
Spain’s opening fixture of the tournament will be against Croatia in Berlin on June 15.
