Anthony Gordon has rattled everyone by naming the best atmosphere in the Premier League

It is a strange choice, to say the least...

Anthony Gordon has revealed which stadium he feels has the best atmosphere in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old spent his academy years at Everton before his switch to Newcastle United, having netted 12 goals this season.

Set to help England's endeavours at Euro 2024, the devoted Scouser has upset Toffees' fans with his recent answer regarding local rivals Liverpool.

Quizzed on which grounds have the best all round presence to play in, Gordon gifted praise to the red side of Merseyside.

“Other than St. James’, it is Anfield," began Gordon speaking to Channel 4.

"By far. Maybe it is because I’m from the city and grew up watching it but I just think before the game when they sing You’ll Never Walk Alone, it’s top. Top level.”

The talented Liverpudlian is not the only player to have weighed in on the love shown for Anfield in recent weeks.

Chelsea star Conor Gallagher also backed up claims Liverpool fans do it better than any other, admitting it almost makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.

“Anfield’s got to be up there," said the 24-year-old.

"I think it’s a pretty special atmosphere you know, when they sing their song before the game, it always gives me a bit of goosebumps and gets me ready for the game.”

Emmanuel Adebayor, who played at Anfield for both Manchester City and Arsenal, was also in a mood to praise Anfield's sacred atmosphere recently.

“The atmosphere there is not the most beautiful but it’s definitely the most, the atmosphere really is crazy,” the former- striker told Sky Sports.

“It is so loud and you can tell the fans are behind their team. You’ll Never Walk Alone is beautiful.”

Jurgen Klopp's final home game against Wolves proved the sentiment right in recent weeks and it's something we cant deny either.
