Manchester United could set to resign a former star as Ruben Amorim prepares to make a shock double transfer this summer.
After a busy summer transfer window that saw the likes of Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte join the club, United had a much quieter winter window.
Although Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven were brought to Old Trafford, the club decided instead to focus on outgoings with a view of focusing on the upcoming summer 2025 window.

And a new report has revealed the first two players that the new United boss could plan to target in the summer, and one of them is a former United star.
After the quiet winter window this year, many United fans have theorised that the Premier League's strict profit and sustainability rules may have prevented the club from making any big signings.
While expected sales of players like Marcus Rashford, Casemiro or Antony in the summer would help with this issue, Amorim looks set to also consider signing players who are out of contract in the summer.

According to Manchester Evening News, United could consider a shock raid on Ligue 1 side Lille to sign both Joshua David and Angel Gomes, who are both out of contract in the summer.
Having come through the United academy, Gomes spent three years with the senior squad before joining the French side after his contract expired in June 2020.
United reportedly tried to convinced the midfielder to sign a contract extension, but he instead opted for a new challenge abroad.
And after several impressive outings for Lille and England's senior squad after being called up by interim manager Lee Carsley back in November, United could be tempted to once again pursue the 24-year-old.

Gomes has previously spoken about returning to Old Trafford, and it would appear he would be open to the move.
"There'll always be that sentimental soft spot, so of course it'd be difficult to say no," he told The Times in October.
"As amazing as that would be, after finding happiness abroad I know [playing in the Premier League] is not the be-all and end-all.

Meanwhile teammate David, who is expected to be pursued by several of the top clubs in Europe this summer, could be the perfect solution for United's ongoing issue up front as strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee continue to disappoint.
Like Gomes, David's contract with Lille is set to expire this summer, and the Canadian International has hinted that he will look to join a new club once he becomes a free agent.
"Yes, I will be free at the end of the season. And as for my future, I hope to grow, to become a better player and to play for the biggest clubs in the world, if I can," he admitted to French outlet Onze Mondial.
