Former West Ham United player and manager Paulo Di Canio has slammed Manchester United for their decision to sell Scott McTominay to Napoli in the summer.
McTominay made the shock move to the Serie A on deadline day for a reported fee of £25.4 million bringing to an end the midfielder's 22-year stay with the club.
Following the move to Napoli McTominay explained that at this point in his career, the most important thing was his happiness.

"My biggest dream as a person is to be happy,” McTominay said via Napoli.
“Happiness is the best thing in life, and that is the only thing I concentrate on: try to be happy, with my family, my friends, my girlfriend… when you have a smile on your face you play better at football as well," he added.
It's fair to say Napoli must be a happy place for the Scottish international, as his form since making the move to Italy has been outstanding.
McTominay has scored two goals and provided one assist in his first five appearances for the club and even earned a complimentary nickname from the Italian press.

Given United's current struggles, the 27-year-old's exit is starting to look even more bizarre and former Premier League star Di Canio has slammed the club's hierarchy for the decision.
“I would go to Manchester United to arrest all the directors: how do you give McTominay away?” Di Canio told Il Mattino.
Di Canio isn't the only one to question the decision with Italian journalist Riccardo Trevisan also previously slamming McTominay's sale.

“McTominay scored goals, he carried the cross, he had determination and yet they kicked him out! Nothing works at Manchester United, a club that only does stupid things, you can’t guess anything,” he said via Cronache di Spogliatoio.
McTominay made his first two appearances for Napoli from the bench, but after scoring less than a minute into his second cameo he has been irreplaceable in the starting eleven.
