Roy Keane has revealed he turned down a move to two European giants while at Manchester United - but regrets not joining one club more than the other.
Keane had an illustrious career at United between 1995 and 2005, establishing himself as one of the best midfielders of the Premier League era.
He captained the side from 1997, and helped them to win 17 trophies, including seven Premier League titles.

Keane also lifted the 1999 Champions League during United's infamous treble-winning season. Although he missed the final against Bayern Munich through suspension, he produced one of the finest displays of his career in the second leg of the semi-final to overhaul a 2-1 deficit against Juventus.
While it may perhaps be relatively common knowledge that the Irishman had keen interest from Juve in the year of 1999 - the same year his United contract was due to expire - there was another European club that pursued Keane.
Speaking on the latest edition of The Overlap's Stick to Football, Keane revealed that Bayern Munich were the club in question - and they offered him the most lucrative contract of his career.

He explained: "Leaving United at the time [was the toughest decision I made]. That was hard.
"Not a regret, but I'm a bit wary, I definitely should have gone abroad. I had opportunities to play abroad, I should have been brave enough to play in Italy, Germany or Spain. And I had the opportunities.
"I always had a soft spot for Juventus. And they offered me a deal, but I remember the deal at the time wasn't amazing. I was looking for an amazing deal.

"The club that offered me the most amazing deal ever was Bayern Munich.
"When I left United, I went up to Celtic, but I could have gone to Real Madrid. They offered me a year and a half. I just thought, 'Would I go up to Real Madrid and make the impact?'"
