Mason Greenwood is to leave Manchester United via mutual consent - and his staggering transfer valuation prior to his suspension in January 2022 has been revealed.
Greenwood was suspended by United after his arrest on suspicion of rape and assault. He was subsequently charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The CPS discontinued those charges in February, stating that a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was 'no longer a realistic prospect of conviction'.

United then conducted their own internal investigation into Greenwood's behaviour, which spanned across six months.
They confirmed on Monday that they will work with Greenwood to complete his exit from the club, with the conclusion of their official statement reading: "All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United.
"It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome."

Furthermore, the club have confirmed that he will not train at Carrington while his exit is negotiated, as per the Manchester Evening News' Samuel Luckhurst.
Now, his huge transfer valuation prior to his suspension has been revealed.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, Greenwood was among the top three highest-valued players in world football as of June 2021.

He was valued at a staggering €178 million (£152 million), with his contract - which at that point had four years still to run - somewhat inflating that fee.
Only Manchester City star Phil Foden (€190 million) had a higher valuation than Greenwood, with the forward's team-mate Marcus Rashford (€159 million) placed in third.
In fact, three United players made up the top five, with Bruno Fernandes (€154.3 million) in fifth behind Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland (€155.5 million).
Until Greenwood departs United, he is still contracted to the club, and it is unclear as to whether he will be loaned out or sold permanently this summer.

His contract expires in the summer of 2025, with a four-year deal agreed back in February 2021.
