Mark Goldbridge has predicted Manchester United could be about to make a second major announcement after it was confirmed that Mason Greenwood will not play for the club again.
United announced in a statement on Monday that Greenwood will leave the Premier League side by mutual agreement following an internal investigation into his conduct.
Greenwood was suspended by United in January 2022 after being arrested and later charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault.

All charges against Greenwood were dropped in February of this year after key witnesses withdrew their involvement in the case and new material came to light during the police investigation.
Following an internal investigation into Greenwood's behaviour, the decision has now been made for the player to leave Old Trafford – although reports claim he is likely to depart on loan initially before either being sold or released.
It had previously been reported by The Athletic that United were initially planning to keep Greenwood before reversing their decision in the wake of a backlash from supporters.
"All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United," read a club statement.

"It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.
"Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged.
"That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for."

In his own statement, Greenwood accepted he had "made mistakes" and took his "share of responsibility" - but added: "I did not do the things I was accused of."
United supporter and YouTuber Goldbridge has predicted the club may look to sign a new player in the wake of releasing the news about Greenwood.
"I'd expect a United transfer in the next 24 hours," he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
He later added: "On Greenwood wouldn't be surprised if they loaned him out to bring him back anyway and that's the plan. [United CEO, Richard] Arnold clearly can't be trusted and in no way is that statement definitive."

Arnold published an open letter to United supporters after the club's statement on Greenwood, explaining the decision.
"While I am satisfied that Mason did not commit the acts he was charged with, Mason's accepted that he has made mistakes which he takes responsibility for," wrote Arnold.
"I am also mindful of the challenge that Mason would face rebuilding his career and raising a baby together with his partner in the harsh spotlight of Manchester United.
"Further, this case has provoked strong opinions, and it is my responsibility to minimise any distraction to the unity we are seeking within the club.

"Although we have decided that Mason will seek to rebuild his career away from Manchester United, that does not signal the end of this matter.
"The club will continue to offer its support both to the alleged victim and Mason to help them rebuild and move forward positively with their lives."
