Ruben Amorim has ‘urged’ Manchester United to pursue a world-class Premier League player – and it would shock the footballing world.
Amorim, 39, saw his United side play out a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday evening, which was his first loss since becoming head coach of the club.
Of course, as he arrived in November, he has not had the chance to recruit his own players.

On January 1, 2025, the transfer window will open.
Amorim previously expressed that he would not target any players from his former club, Sporting CP.
“I will not sign any Sporting player at Man United in January… then, what happens in the summer, I don't know,” said Amorim before starting in his new role.

“Sporting players are good players,” he added.
“We will see what happens…”
However, according to GiveMeSport, Tottenham skipper Son Heung-Min may be a ‘viable target’ in the summer transfer window.
Son, 32, is arguably Spurs’ most important player but has started the season in mixed form, having registered seven goal involvements in ten Premier League appearances this term.

However, he has not scored since September, although manager Ange Postecoglou insisted that he “would be wary about [doubting Son]”, adding that “It might help me if you write him off” when speaking in a press conference on Wednesday.
The South Korean international is now in his tenth season at the club and was appointed as captain following the departure of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris in the summer of 2023.
According to TeamTalk, there is ‘plenty of chat around Old Trafford’ that United may target Son this summer.

The player’s current deal is set to expire in June 2025, meaning he will be allowed to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January 1, 2025.
In November, The Telegraph reported that Spurs hold an option to extend his contract for a further season, although the clause is in the club’s control, Son needs to be informed that the option has been triggered.
A sticking point may be his age, 32, as United have opted to bring in younger players recently.
During the summer transfer window, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte and Sekou Kone all came in with an average age of 22 which may be an indicator of United's recruitment policy moving forward.
