Man Utd planning 'bombshell' first signing for Ruben Amorim that would stun world football

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a blockbuster first signing under new boss Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United are reportedly planning a bombshell first signing under imminent new manager Ruben Amorim, reports claim.

Amorim has replaced Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford and signed a contract until 2027, with United paying his £8.3 million release clause in addition to further funds for his backroom staff.

He will remain at Sporting CP for three more games before officially taking the United job on 11 November ahead of managing his first game against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24.

Much has been made about the changes Amorim will look to make but there are already reports on potential moves in the transfer market.

Caught Offside say that United want to mark the new era by making Bayern Munich and Germany star Jamal Musiala a marquee signing.

Musiala, one of the very best players in world football currently, will soon approach the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena and the club are desperate to tie him down to fresh terms.

Musiala could leave for much less than his market value in the summer 2025 or even for nothing a year later in the worst case scenario for Bayern.

A slew of top clubs are interested in Musiala, with Manchester City believed to be high on him and seeing the 21-year-old as a perfect replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, who is out of contract in the summer of 2025.

But it's reported that Muisala's former club Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and United are also keeping tabs.

A United move for Musiala would be an ambitious one given their current predicament and a real coup if they are able to pull off an a shock deal.

Musiala has started the new season in fine form, with four goals and one assist in six Bundesliga games under Vincent Kompany.

Asked about his situation last month, Musiala told German media he is "very happy" in Bavaria but noted that "things can always change quickly in the world of football".
