Manchester United have confirmed the managerial appointment of Ruben Amorim following the dismissal of Erik ten Hag.
The club announced Amorim, 39, as their new head coach on Friday lunch time - subject to work visa requirements.
He will join the Red Devils on a contract running until 2027 - with the option of an additional year.
The club confirmed the news via a statement, which read: "Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Rúben Amorim as Head Coach of the men’s first team, subject to work visa requirements.

"He [Ruben Amorim] will join until June 2027 with a club option of an additional year once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club. He will join Manchester United on Monday 11 November.
"Rúben [Amorim] is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football.
"Highly decorated as both a player and coach, his titles include winning the Primeira Liga twice in Portugal with Sporting CP; the first of which was the club’s first title in 19 years.
"Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to take charge of the team until Rúben joins."
The new United boss' first game in charge of the team will be the away trip to Ipswich on November 24 - following the international break.

Before then Van Nistelrooy will oversee United's matches against Chelsea, PAOK and Leicester City.
However, whether the Dutchman will be given a new role at the club is still unclear.
Sporting confirmed in a statement that the two clubs had reached an agreement, with United set to pay a fee of €11m (£9.25m).
Man United parted ways with Ten Hag following the club's dreadful start to the new season.

The Red Devils have already lost four games in this season's Premier League campaign, including last weekend's crushing 2-1 defeat at West Ham United.
Amorim has now been tasked with steering the club back to their glory days, having been appointed at Old Trafford.
The 39-year-old will be the club's youngest manager in Premier League history.
Amorim, who has previously been linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and West Ham United, rose to fame following his stellar stint at Braga.

He led Sporting CP to their first league title in 19 years in 2021 and repeated the achievement with the Lisbon-based outfit last season.
Today's announcement may have come as a surprise given the fact Amorim himself explained how the decision would be announced following Sporting's game against Estrela Amadora on Friday evening.
