Graeme Souness has raised his ONE concern over Manchester United's proposed signing of Matthijs de Ligt.
De Ligt is on the verge of joining Man United, who have agreed a reported £42 million fee with Bayern Munich.
He captained the Ajax team Erik ten Hag took to the Champions League semi-final in 2019 as he's set to become the second centre-back to come through the doors at Old Trafford this summer following the transfer of Leny Yoro.

But Souness has questioned Man United's pursuit of De Ligt and is unimpressed with the defender's physique.
He called the 25-year-old a 'lightweight' centre-half in a brutal assessment.
On talkSPORT, the Liverpool legend exclaimed: "I’m doubtful about De Ligt. He didn’t get into the national team during the Euros, he was a squad member.

"He’s been at two enormous football clubs, they normally don’t like to sell players. That in itself tells a story.
"He was a star when he was a boy. Has he progressed since then? I’m not sure he is what Man United need at this time.
"Jonny Evans played 23 times for Man United, they desperately need a centre-half.
"I look at De Ligt, he’s a lightweight centre-half. What you want from a centre-half first and foremost is to defend."

Souness added: "It would appear that some coaches and managers think it’s all about playing out from the back.

"Keep the ball out the back of the net. It’s the same with the goalkeeper. Is he any better than the Spanish boy they allowed to walk out the door?
"He wasn’t good with his feet but kept the ball out the back of his net better than Onana."
De Ligt, a teenager at the time, burst onto the scene following his stellar showings for Ajax.
He was highly sought after as he moved to Juventus before signing for Bayern.

The Dutchman now appears set to ply his trade in the Premier League, having played top flight football in the Netherlands, Italy and Germany.
