Getafe believe Manchester United have already triggered a clause in Mason Greenwood's contract ahead of a potential summer transfer.
Last summer, Greenwood joined Getafe on loan from Man United for the 2023/24 season.
He's scored eight goals in 27 appearances across all competitions since signing for the La Liga outfit.

Getafe are interested in retaining the 22-year-old's services whether on loan for another campaign or in a permanent deal.
His future at Old Trafford has been uncertain after police charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault against him were dropped in February last year.
Greenwood's current deal runs to summer 2025, with Man United having an option to extend it for a further year.

If they fail to trigger the clause, the forward would be able leave as a free agent at the end of next season.
Allowing him to enter the final year of his deal would decrease his value in the transfer market.
Potential buyers could be prepared to wait for 12 months to sign him on a free, and foreign sides could strike a pre-contract as early as the next January transfer window.

According to The Athletic, Getafe believe Man United have triggered that option to extend his contract until 2026.
Getafe would like to keep Greenwood and their officials have come away from talks with Man United with the understanding his current contract will run until 2026.
Per the report, an extension would give the Red Devils a longer window to negotiate a sale and puts them in a position to receive a transfer fee.
However, this has been disputed by senior figures at Man United. They claim no such decision has been made over his contract.

Man United have until May 2025 to activate the clause.
The one-cap England player has also attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus.
