Donny van de Beek's time as a Manchester United player appears to be all but over.
The 26-year-old midfielder has endured a frustrating time at Old Trafford following a much-anticipated £35 million move from Eredivisie side Ajax in the summer of 2020.
In total, he has made just 35 Premier League appearances across three seasons for the Reds – a largely underwhelming output considering his form for Ajax.

And after making just two appearances in all competitions for Erik ten Hag's side this season, the out-of-favour Van de Beek is set to leave United in January, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said on Friday afternoon that a verbal agreement is in place for the midfielder to join Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on loan until June next year.
A buy option will also be included in the deal to bring Van de Beek to the Waldstadion, with a €15 million [£12.8m] fee mentioned in a potential package that includes add-ons.

Eintracht Frankfurt, who currently sit seventh in the Bundesliga with five wins from a possible 14, will also pay Manchester United a loan fee, according to Romano.
Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, meanwhile, has provided some further details on Van de Beek's impending move.
A medical has yet to be scheduled but Eintracht want to finalise the deal before the January window opens. "Ideally, he should be there at the start of training on January 2nd," says Plettenberg.

After spending the latter part of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Everton, Van de Beek made just 10 appearances in all competitions for United last season.
The Netherlands international was then heavily linked with a loan move to La Liga side Real Sociedad, who were reportedly keen on making a deal happen.
In fact, Sociedad were said to be negotiating with United in the summer, according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, who said Sociedad wanted a purchase option of €10 million [£8.5 million].
But the Spanish club ruled out the prospect of signing Van de Beek in early August.

He was then linked with a deadline day move to Premier League new boys Luton Town but again, a move failed to materialise.
