Premier League new boys Luton Town are exploring a deadline day deal to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United, according to reports.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined the Reds from Ajax in 2020 for a reported £35 million, has been limited to first-team starts since his much-anticipated arrival.
In total, he's made just 34 Premier League appearances across three seasons; a largely underwhelming output considering his form for Ajax, especially during their Champions League run in 2019.

After spending the latter part of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Everton, the Netherlands international made just 10 appearances in all competitions for United last season.
And now, on the final day of this summer's transfer window, it appears Van de Beek could be sent out on loan again – or potentially even a permanent move.
The Independent report that Luton Town are one potential club that may be intrigued by Van de Beek, who has failed to make a Premier League appearance for United so far this season.

Discussions over the future of Van de Beek are ongoing, according to the publication, who also suggest Mason Greenwood and Eric Bailly could also depart on deadline day.
Earlier on in the transfer window, Van de Beek was heavily linked with a loan move to La Liga side Real Sociedad, who were reportedly keen on making a deal happen.
In fact, Imanol Alguacil's side were said to be negotiating with Manchester United, according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, who said Sociedad wanted a purchase option of €10 million [£8.5 million].
But the Spanish club ruled out the prospect of signing Van de Beek in early August.

Back in November, when rumours over Van de Beek's future at Old Trafford loomed, Erik ten Hag said it wasn't going to be easy for the former Ajax midfielder to break into his first-team plans.
"I’ve seen him better in the past," he said. "But I think positioning-wise, he’s acting quite well. But he has to make that step up. I don’t think a loan [makes] sense.
"It’s either he fights [for] himself and proves himself, in this atmosphere in this environment, or he goes.

"But for me, there is still a way for him, there is still a perspective for him. It’s not going to be easy because the competition there is really strong."
