Donny van de Beek's future at Manchester United has taken another twist after reports emerged suggesting he could leave Old Trafford on a loan deal that includes an option to buy.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who joined the Reds from Ajax in 2020 for a reported £35 million, has been limited to first-team starts since his much-anticipated arrival.
In total, he's made just 34 Premier League appearances across three seasons; a largely underwhelming output considering his form for Ajax, especially during their Champions League run in 2019.
After spending the latter part of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Everton, the Netherlands international made just 10 appearances in all competitions for United last season.

And now, it appears Van de Beek could be sent out on loan again.
A report from Spanish publication Noticias de Gipuzkoa suggests La Liga outfit Real Sociedad are keen on making a deal happen ahead of the new campaign.
In fact, Imanol Alguacil's side are currently 'negotiating' with Manchester United and 'intend to bring him to Spain on a loan deal that includes a purchase option of approximately €10 million [£8.5 million].'
Van de Beek has also been offered to Roma this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

After making an instant impression during United's pre-season clash Lyon earlier this month, the Dutchman opened up about his future at Old Trafford.
"For now, it’s hard to say where my future is," he said. "I’ve come back now after injury and I’m fit now, so I play my first minutes after training for a few weeks, so I try to push as hard as possible.
"Every day [something] can happen, so it’s hard to say now where my future will be. In football you never know, especially with me, so let’s see what happens."

When asked if he could potentially stay at United, Van de Beek replied: "Yeah, but it’s also a possibility that I move, so everything is open.
"It’s hard to say now where my future is. I’m focussing on getting as fit as possible and pushing on."
Thoughts on Van de Beek's future at Manchester United? Should the club cash in now before his contract runs out in 2025?
