Mark Goldbridge insisted Sir Alex Ferguson shouldn’t be listened to upon hearing who the Scot reportedly wants as the next Manchester United boss.
There has been much uncertainty around United in the past few weeks, with the club’s hierarchy deliberating over Erik ten Hag’s future.
Ten Hag’s second season as United boss was tumultuous, with the Dutchman overseeing their worst-ever Premier League finish and a dismal Champions League group stage elimination, but also guiding them to FA Cup glory.

Indeed, in winning the latter, Ten Hag became the first manager since Ferguson to win silverware in consecutive seasons, having claimed the Carabao Cup last term.
Yet, it has been suggested that Ferguson, the greatest manager in United history, has told the club to bring in Mauricio Pochettino should Ten Hag be sacked.
As per reporter Graeme Bailey, Ferguson has long been a fan of the Argentine and even had dinner with him back in 2016.

Despite subsequent reports emerging, as per Team Talk, that United chiefs no longer consider Pochettino to be a prime candidate for the job, United fan and YouTuber Goldbridge has hit out at the prospect of United bringing in the former Chelsea and Tottenham boss.
On X, formally Twitter, Goldbridge said: “Just seen the Sir Alex is pushing for Poch rumour lol!
“Legend of the sport. Shouldn't be listened to on the next manager though. Do these people even do their research? Didn't work out well listening to Sir Matt. Didn't work out with Sir Alex recommending Moyes.”

Elsewhere Thomas Tuchel is also said to have ruled himself out of the running, with the German keen to take a break following his Bayern Munich departure, while there is still a chance Ten Hag will remain in charge.
