Luke Shaw could be offered an escape route out of Manchester United in January after a European club is said to be considering making an offer for the defender.
Shaw has been at United for more than a decade now after joining the Old Trafford club in 2014 from Southampton for around £30m.
The left-back has scored four goals in 278 games for United in that time with the club winning two FA Cups, a pair of League Cups and the Europa League in that time.

However, Shaw's time at United has been disrupted by injury very often and has made just three appearances so far this campaign.
A recent sustained comeback from a calf injury was ultimately put on hold after Shaw took to Instagram to confirm he had suffered a 'small setback' in his bid to return to action for United and play under new boss Ruben Amorim more after featuring in the draw versus Ipswich Town and victory over Everton.
"It’s hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forwards, but unfortunately I’ve had a small setback," read Shaw’s statement.

"I’ve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs but this has definitely been my toughest period. I’m absolutely devastated and it’s extremely tough to come to terms with reality at this moment in time.
"I understand there is gunna be people frustrated, angry, disappointed and I understand all that. There is no one feeling that more than me at this moment in time.
"But what I can promise is I will do everything I can to come back better soon to help this club achieve its ambitions this season. Thank you to everyone for the support. It really doesn’t go unnoticed and I really do appreciate it."

Shaw's deal at United runs until the summer of 2027, but some fans question if he can be relied upon to remain fit and injury-free for sustained periods.
With that, speculation surrounds his continued long-term future under Amorim at Old Trafford and a club in Serie A has emerged as a potential suitor in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to reports in Italy via Football 365, Napoli are said to be considering to 'test the ground' and are 'thinking about' making an approach to United for Shaw's services.
Napoli are managed by ex-Chelsea and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, who recently raided the Premier League to bring players to the Campanian side.

Billy Gilmour arrived from Brighton, while Shaw's then United team-mate Scott McTominay moved to the Italian outfit and has flourished there in Serie A.
It is also claimed the 'next few days will be crucial' for Italian side in ascertaining Shaw's availability.
