Manchester United have made a transfer bid for a PSG star ahead of the January transfer window as they look to secure Ruben Amorim's first signing.
United are 14th in the Premier League after a 2-0 Boxing Day defeat at Wolves, and have picked up just 22 points from their 18 matches.
Amorim's side are now closer to the relegation zone than they are the Champions League places, which may well prompt a change in thinking from United's hierarchy as far as January transfers are concerned.

Now, according to RMC Sport's Fabrice Hawkins, INEOS have launched an offer to sign a left-back to solve what is becoming a problem position for Amorim.
Diogo Dalot has filled in at left wing-back this season but Luke Shaw remains absent through injury, and Amorim dropped Tyrell Malacia from the squad for the Wolves.
It is claimed that United have launched a bid to sign Portugal international Nuno Mendes, whom Amorim knows well from his time in Portuguese football with Sporting Lisbon.

Mendes came through Sporting's youth system and was even handed his professional debut by Amorim back in June 2020.
He was signed by PSG for a fee of €38 million in 2022, agreed as a buyout clause following a loan spell with the French giants in the 2021/22 campaign.
The 22-year-old would represent a long-term investment for United - though there is one familiar worry that may well need to be taken into account by the Red Devils.

Mendes only made six appearances last season after missing much of the campaign with a hamstring injury.
As per Transfermarkt, the Portugal defender has missed a total of 58 games through injury since the beginning of the 2022/23 season - though his fitness record prior to that makes for much better reading.
Hawkins claims that Mendes is 'not indifferent' to a move to Old Trafford, with contract negotiations with PSG now at a 'standstill'.
It is believed that the left-back holds concerns over the salary offered to him by PSG, though the French giants still hope to extend the player's current contract, which expires in the summer of 2026.
