Jose Mourinho was given marching orders during his reunion with former club Manchester United in the Europa League.
As United travelled to Istanbul to play a Fenerbahce side made up of several former players and led by former manager Mourinho, a dramatic match was all but certain.
The visitors opened the scoring early in the match but Fenerbahce fired back just minutes into the second half to level the score.

However, the most dramatic moment of the match came shortly before the hour mark as Fenerbahce manager Mourinho was shown a red card.
Just minutes beforehand, a Fenerbahce attack was halted after full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel appeared to be fouled inside the United box after clashing with Manuel Ugarte.
However, no foul was given leading to Fenerbahce players on and off the pitch to immediately begin shouting that they should have been awarded a penalty.

And among the angered Fenerbahce team members, was Mourinho, who was sent to the stands for his reaction to the supposed foul.
During his protests towards the referee, the Portuguese manager ran onto the pitch, clearly breaching the rules and earning him the red card.
Referee Clement Turpin immediately spotted Mourinho out of his box and didn't hesitate to point at him and reach for his pocket.
But Mourinho was far from compliant with the referee, and took several minutes before eventually making his way up to the stands, where he spent the rest of the match.

However, replays of the incident showed that the Ugarte had barely touched the Nigerian star, displaying that the decision not to award a penalty was correct.
Ahead of the match, Mourinho spoke fondly about his time with Manchester United, who he managed from 2016 to 2018, but aimed a dig a current boss Erik ten Hag.
He said: "As you know, we won the Europa League, we finished second in the Premier League.

"It doesn’t make sense for me to be thinking about what happened and what didn’t happen.
"What happened for sure is that they keep faith in the coach, they support the coach [Erik ten Hag] – the coach is staying season after season
"That means stability, it means trust – they are giving him conditions to keep developing his job. That was a difference in relation to me."
