Erik ten Hag has been branded as deluded after comments made on the back of Manchester United’s defeat by Fulham.
United’s unbeaten start to 2024 ended in dramatic fashion against Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
After Calvin Bassey gave the visitors the lead in the 65th minute, United equalised through Harry Maguire with one minute left of the 90.

However, the Red Devils failed to hold on to the point as Alex Iwobi netted for Fulham deep into stoppage time to seal a famous 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
After the match, Ten Hag said: “The team showed big character to fight back, we deserved the equaliser and went for the win - we showed big personality and character”.
“You have to see the bigger picture. The bigger picture looks very good”

Ten Hag’s comments did not go down well with the United fans.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “The man is actually deluded, this club over the years has ruined managers mentally and now it's happening with Ten Hag.”
Another tweeted: “The bigger picture is United got dominated by another team.”
A third fan added: “Big character to fight back yet you ended up losing at home. Rubbish.”

Someone else wrote: “The bigger picture might not involve Ten Hag at Manchester United.”
A fifth commented: “If this game is the base for the bigger picture, I don’t think we will be seeing you for long.”
Defender Maguire said after the match: “We were probably naive in the end by throwing too many bodies forward and getting done on the counter attack.

“We've been on a good run of form and came into the game we were confident.”
United have the chance to put things right when they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.
