David de Gea has teased fans on social media about a potential return to football this summer.
The summer transfer window ahead of the 2024/25 season is well and truly underway with many of Europe's top clubs bringing new talent into the team.
One of the busiest clubs this summer has been Manchester United, who in one week secured the signings of both Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro from Lille.

And it looks like one of the club's most iconic ex-players may also make a move in the transfer window, with David de Gea posting a cryptic message on social media that has got fans talking.
Writing on X, the former United goalkeeper simply posted one emoji, the hourglass.
This would suggest that the 33-year-old could be making a transfer announcement in the near future, having spent last season as a free agent.

And the reaction from fans on social media has been overwhelmingly positive.
Responding to the news on X, one fan wrote: "Please tell me you’ve got a club 🙏🏼❤️"
Another added: "Your incredible talent & dedication have always been a joy to watch. 🧤🌟 Hope to see you back between the 🥅 posts, bringing value & class to any club lucky enough to sign you!"
While another jokingly referenced De Gea's failed move to Real Madrid, writing: "Yes he's joining a new team finally, no fax machine to stop it this time 👏🏾

During his time with United, the Spaniard made 545 appearances and kept 190 clean sheets, both of which are club records.
"I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters," De Gea wrote in a social media post.
