Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has made a cryptic post on social media in the wake of Erik ten Hag's sacking at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag, 54, was relieved of his duties on Monday morning with the news being confirmed by the club in an official statement.
Several ex-United players including Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra were quick to react to the news with Ferdinand expressing his thanks towards Ten Hag for his efforts at the club.

However, one of Ferdinand's former teammates De Gea was less positive.
The Spanish international, who now plays for Serie A outfit Fiorentina, simply posted a 'chef's kiss' emoji to his X page.
It is reported by the Mirror, that De Gea and Ten Hag did not see eye-to-eye when trying to negotiate a new deal for the 'keeper during the 2022-23 season - Ten Hag's first at the club.

De Gea "admitted to his inner circle that he was upset with [Erik] ten Hag and United's former football director, Tom Murtough, and that he held both of them responsible for his exit" according to the report.
The 33-year-old left United at the end of the 2022-23 season and spent some time as a free agent before signing for the Florence-based side in August 2024.
The former Atletico Madrid man seems happy at his new club having played six times in the Italian top-flight so far this term.
It was thought that part of the reason Ten Hag was not fond of De Gea was because he is not known for his ability with the ball at his feet.

Current United goalie, Andre Onana, is more confident with his general play and was brought in by Ten Hag as De Gea's replacement for a fee of £47.2m in the summer of 2023. However, De Gea will bring back memories of better times for the Red Devils' fans having been the club's 'keeper during their 2013 Premier League-winning campaign.
Fans were left stunned by the De Gea's cheeky reaction and they quickly had their say in the comments section.
One fan actually defended Ten Hag: "You play for Fiorentina no one cares what you think."

A second said: "Ten Hag is gone but let's be honest, you were so bad in your last months as a United player."
With a third adding: "Childish."
