Cole Palmer has reacted to reports that suggest Chelsea are 'leading the chase' to sign Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Chelsea are said to be interested in bringing the England international to Stamford Bridge after his boyhood club reached a 'stalemate' in contract talks with Mainoo's representatives.
In fact, the Blues are in 'pole position' to sign United's academy product if he cannot agree new terms at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old penned a new contract last year until June 2027 and has held talks over a new deal that would match his status as a first-team regular and England international.
But United appear to be making efforts to decrease their wage bill as they consider offloading big earners such as Casemiro, Antony and Marcus Rashford.
Mainoo, meanwhile, is believed to be 'concerned' over which direction the club is heading, as well as his chances of playing Champions League football in the near future.

The report has certainly shocked many and on Tuesday evening, Instagram account thesecretscout1 posted an edited picture of Mainoo wearing a Chelsea shirt.
Alongside that image, they captioned the post: "News today of Chelsea leading the chase for Kobbie Mainoo if he leaves Man Utd. What do we think? Would this be a good move for him?"
Soon, it emerged that Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer had 'liked' the post.
In fact, it appears the 22-year-old took part in a vote asking if a move to Chelsea would be a good one for Mainoo, who has established himself as a first-team regular at United since his debut in 2023.

It is unclear whether Palmer voted 'yes' or 'no' but the fact Palmer liked said Instagram post suggests he would be open to having Mainoo at Chelsea.
As well as the above information, it has been suggested that Mainoo has requested a significant pay increase in order to reject Chelsea and sign a new contract at his boyhood club.

A report from the Daily Mail claims Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho – whose deal expires in 2028 – may be sold as they are both homegrown players and their sales could be registered as 'pure profit' on the balance sheets for profit and sustainability rules.
Should United want to extend Mainoo's deal, it is said the 19-year-old is demanding wages of around £200,000-per-week to sign fresh terms.
