Concrete 'falls on fans' at Old Trafford as Man Utd's crumbling stadium and light show mocked by rivals

Concrete 'falls on fans' at Old Trafford as Man Utd's crumbling stadium and light show mocked by rivals

Manchester United have been mocked by their rival fans

Pieces of concrete apparently fell on fans as Old Trafford and Manchester United’s pre-match light show were mocked by rival fans.

Since November last year, United have been put on sale by their current owners, the Glazer Family.

After almost a year, it has been widely reported that British billionaire and INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe will buy a minority stake at the club.

Last weekend, United were mocked by rival fans over a light show prior to the Women’s Super League derby against Manchester City. You can watch the footage below.

Reacting to the video on social media, one fan said: “Old Trafford’s light shows aren’t even in time.”

Another tweeted: “That's not a light show it's the leccy generator packing up.”

A third fan added: “One of the richest clubs in the world btw.”

Someone else wrote: “A once great club, dear me.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “They duct taped some flashlights on the roof and called it a light show.”

Another fan added: “They're just switching the lights on and off at the mains.”

In addition to the light show, one supporter posted on social media claiming that pieces of concrete fell on fans inside the stadium.

The fan wrote: “If you ever need further proof that Old Trafford is indeed Falling Down...Block N2402 ceiling parts fell on 2 supporters at the ladies’ game today....absolute sh*t show.”

SPORTbible has contacted Manchester United for comment.

So far in the 23/24 season, United have endured a tough start under Erik ten Hag.

Despite being sixth in the Premier League table, their Champions League campaign is hanging by a threat after three defeats in their opening four group-stage matches.

The Red Devils face a tough trip to Goodison Park on Sunday as they return to Premier League action against Sean Dyche’s Everton.
