Manchester City have issued a club statement after a supporter of the club died during the derby against Manchester United.
City and United met at the Etihad on Sunday, with the visitors securing a dramatic victory.
Late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo secured all three points for United after Josko Gvardiol had opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half.
However, the result of the Premier League match was overshadowed by the tragic death of one City supporter following a 'medical emergency' during the game.
A statement released by the Premier League champions on Monday read: "Manchester City are aware of the tragic news that one of our supporters passed away following a medical incident at yesterday's match.
"The thoughts of everyone at the Club are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time."
City have not confirmed the age or identity of the supporter, or provided any further details about the medical emergency.
The match on Sunday was not paused due to the incident.
Other clubs have since offered their condolences to City and the individual's family following the tragic news.
"We send our condolences to their family, friends and all at Manchester City at this time," read a club statement from Luton Town.
Defeat at the weekend leaves Pep Guardiola's side fifth in the Premier League table, while United move up to 13th after their victory away from home.
City remain nine points behind leaders Liverpool, who now have a game in hand on the defending champions.
City have now lost eight of their last 11 games in all competitions and speaking after the match, manager Guardiola was quick to shoulder the blame.
"I'm the boss, I'm the manager and I'm not good enough, it's as simple as that," he said.
"I have to find a way to talk to them, train them, the way they have to play, press and build-up, and I'm not good enough. I'm not doing well. That is the truth."
