Man City squad ranked from '100% keep' to '100% sell' as Pep Guardiola forced to rebuild after Liverpool loss

Man City squad ranked from '100% keep' to '100% sell' as Pep Guardiola forced to rebuild after Liverpool loss

Manchester City have some key decisions to make when it comes to rebuilding after going seven games without a win.

Manchester City's squad has been ranked from '100% keep' to '100% sell' after Pep Guardiola's men suffered a four consecutive league defeat against Liverpool on Sunday.

City lost 2-0 at Anfield to slip down to fifth in the Premier League, 11 points behind leaders Liverpool. They have gone a remarkable seven games without winning and look incredibly easy to play against.

Under Guardiola City have completely dominated in the Premier League, winning six out of the last seven titles - including an unprecedented four in a row. They have effectively completed football under the Catalan but the reality is that a fair chunk of players have reached the end of the cycle and are on their way out at the top level.

Guardiola needs to sign someone in January but a major squad rebuild is also required for this City side. But who is safe and who is nailed on to move on?

SPORTbible have put together a tiermaker and placed members of City's side in different categories depending on their current status.

For starters, there are a number of indispensable players. Ballon d'Or winner Rodri's importance to the side cannot be any clearer given their struggles since his ACL injury, while Erling Haaland and Phil Foden are still huge players for the club.

Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol are in their second seasons and still have big futures, while youngsters Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb will not be going anywhere.

Stefan Ortega effectively won City the league with a save against Spurs last season and he should be the team's No.1 choice in between the sticks going forward.

The squad depth section includes John Stones and Nathan Ake, who have both been fantastic for City but their injury issues mean they cannot be relied upon for the full duration of a season.

Manuel Akanji's versatility means he remains a useful player, while Mateo Kovacic can still do a job in midfield. Summer signing Savinho has shown flashes but still has plenty to improve on.

Jack Grealish and Matheus Nunes should both afforded another year, with Kevin De Bruyne, arguably the club's greatest ever player, deserving of the same privilege despite injury problems and his contract expiring in the summer.

In terms of who should be moved on, it's time for Kyle Walker, Ederson, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan - all great servants to the club - to be moved on as they are past their very best.
