Liverpool target Xabi Alonso created German football history when something unprecedented happened this week.
Liverpool are in the process of hunting for a manager to replace Jurgen Klopp.
In January the German coach announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season, nine years after he arrived at Anfield.

The top candidate to replace him is former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso, the current manager of Bayer Leverkusen.
The Spanish coach has worked wonders with Leverkusen this season, with his side currently 10 points clear of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table.
His side are in with a shout of winning a treble, having reached the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal (German cup) and the last-16 of the Europa League.

Nobody expected Leverkusen to run away with the Bundesliga title, nor did they think their run to the semi-finals of the cup would create history.
That's because, for the first time ever, only one Bundesliga side has reached the last four of the competition.
Two of the other semi-finalists, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Kaiserslautern, play in Germany's second tier, while the line-up is completed by third tier Saarbrucken.
3.Liga side Saarbrucken have enjoyed a remarkable run to the semi-finals, eliminating Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach along the way.

The underdogs will host Kaiserslautern in the first semi-final on April 2, before Leverkusen welcome Dusseldorf to the BayArena the following day.
Alonso is the favourite to land the Liverpool job, although the Premier League giants are expected to face stiff competitions from Bayern Munich.
The German side are in the market for a new coach after agreeing to part ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the campaign.
