Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen have submitted a late offer for one of Liverpool's most highly-rated academy products.
Xabi Alonso wants to add more fire power to his Leverkusen squad this summer as they prepare to challenge in both the league and Champions League.
The German club have already added a trio of players to their squad, including left winger Martin Terrier, a £20 million signing from Ligue 1 side Rennes.

Jeanuël Belocian also joined Alonso's side from Rennes, whilst midfielder Aleix Garcia arrived in a €18 million deal after playing a crucial role in Girona's record-breaking campaign last season.
It has been a productive summer window for Leverkusen but they are still keen on adding another midfielder to their ranks. Step forward, Tyler Morton.
Morton, who made his Premier League and Champions League debut for Liverpool in late November 2021, has spent the last two campaigns on loan in the Championship.

He spent the 2022/23 campaign at Blackburn Rovers and flourished in the centre of their midfield, making 43 appearances in all competitions.
The 21-year-old former England U21 international was once again loaned out last season, with Hull City reaping the rewards for bringing Morton to the MKM Stadium.
Having impressed on a weekly basis in the Championship, Bayer Leverkusen want to sign the highly-rated midfielder, who is valued at around £20 million by Liverpool, on a season-long loan.
SPORTbible understand that Morton would get a sufficient amount of game time at the BayArena, with the move being classed as a 'massive step' in his career.

Morton and his team now await Liverpool's final decision.
Jurgen Klopp was a big fan of Morton. Back in 2021, following an impressive outing against Preston North End in the EFL Cup, he was full of praise for the teenager.
That being said, he gave an honest assessment of what Morton had to work on.

"I told him [Tyler] now we pretty much have to send him directly to the gym now," the German said. "Because if he gets a body, he's a brilliant footballer.
"There are obviously some things to come physique-wise, but the football brain is outstanding."
Speaking to SPORTbible in 2022, Morton said he was idetermined to become a more complete player.
"It doesn't look like it but I have been going to the gym!" he said. "I've always worked on my physique and will continue to do so. It will take time. I know that because of how my body develops.

"He [Klopp] is definitely right. I understand it and he's spoken to me about it. It's what I want to work on."
Morton added: "I feel like I can improve in every single aspect of my game, to be honest. I'm still young. I'm still learning the game. As time goes on, I will continue to improve."
