Since the announcement, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has become the bookiesā favourite to replace Klopp in the summer.
It has been claimed that Alonso has a clause within his Bayer Leverkusen contract which allows him to leave for Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern.
Further explaining his decision to leave, Klopp said: āIt is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now.
