Mohamed Salah 'to leave' Liverpool at the end of the season with 'record-breaking contract' already agreed

Mohamed Salah 'to leave' Liverpool at the end of the season with 'record-breaking contract' already agreed

This could be the worst case scenario for Liverpool fans...

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has revealed he knows that Mo Salah will be leaving Liverpool in the summer for a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Salah has been heavily linked to the SPL over the last 12 months, with Liverpool reportedly rejecting an offer of over £100 million for the Egyptian last summer.

After managing to keep hold of Salah for the past two summer windows,

Liverpool find themselves in the rather awkward position of having their star man's contract running down dangerously.

The contracts of Salah, Virgil Van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all expiring at the end of the year with all three being linked with free transfers away from Anfield.

With the clock ticking down for potential extensions for the trio, Agbonlahor has revealed he has the inside scoop on the future of one of the stars.

"I know Salah’s going," the former Aston Villa man said on talkSPORT.

The former Premier League man didn't name a specific club but claimed that Salah will sign a record deal in Saudi to become the face of the division ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I’ve got a source that told me Salah’s definitely going. Saudi, on a record contract.

"I’m hearing that he will earn more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he’ll be the face of the football over there. You can’t turn that down if you’re Mo Salah. He’s done everything at Liverpool hasn’t he?"

"I think he would have signed a new contract by now [if he was staying], and it's an offer he can't turn down," he added.

Salah himself has already commented on his situation after being questioned on where his future lies by Sky Sports after his annual goalscoring performance against Man United.

Speaking after Liverpool's win at Old Trafford, Salah said: "You know this is my last year in the club. I just want to enjoy it. It’s not up to me but no one has spoken to me at the club."
