Liverpool could use two things to their advantage in their pursuit of Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia, 23, has been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs for several years.
He burst onto the scene during Napoli’s Serie A-winning campaign in 2022/23 registering 12 goals and 10 assists in the Italian top flight that season.

The winger continued to impress last term as well as starring during Georgia’s inaugural Euros appearance in the summer of 2024, scoring in the historical 2-0 win against Portugal in the group stage of the competition.
On Thursday evening, it emerged that Liverpool were monitoring the player’s situation.
With The Athletic’s David Ornstein reporting that the club could “consider” signing the player if he were to leave Napoli in the January transfer window.

The report explained how the Reds are “attentive to the situation” despite being “well stocked” with Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Darwen Nunez all available to play on the left side.
Paris Saint-Germain are also “contenders” with journalist Fabrizio Romano providing an update via X on Thursday.
“Paris Saint-Germain, favourites and in direct contact with Napoli — as revealed today,” he wrote.
“Package around €80m discussed while Kvara’s camp in talks with PSG over personal terms, progressing well.”

While talkSPORT reports that Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United had been “tipped” to bring in Kvaratskhelia as a potential replacement for the out-of-favour Marcus Rashford if he were to move on from the Red Devils in the winter window.
And despite PSG seemingly being the favourites to sign the 23-year-old winger, Liverpool possess two ‘secret weapons’ which could persuade the player to join the club.
First, Kvaratskhelia’s Georgia teammate Giorgi Mamardashvili agreed to a deal with Liverpool in August 2024. But he will not join the squad until the 2025/26 campaign.

The pair have shared a dressing room on 24 occasions playing for both the Georgia senior side and the Under-17 outfit together.
And another ‘secret weapon’ could be the fact Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa has been linked with a return to Italy with Sporting News suggesting a January loan move to Napoli could be an option. This could free up space in Liverpool’s squad for the potential arrival of Kvaratskhelia.
The Georgian’s current Napoli contract is set to run until June 2027 and he is valued at €80m (£67.1m) by Transfermarkt.
