Liverpool have made an offer for Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Jurgen Klopp is in dire need of midfield reinforcements following a number of departures in the centre of the park.
Fabinho's move to the Saudi Pro League has left the Reds without a fit and recognised No. 6, and has left the manager scrambling for alternatives in the transfer market.

The club looked to have one hand on Moises Caicedo after agreeing a £110 million fee with Brighton for the 21-year-old, but Chelsea beat them to his signature at the last minute.
Meanwhile, Liverpool transfer target Romeo Lavia looks set to follow Caicedo to Stamford Bridge after the Blues agreed a £60 million fee with Southampton on Monday.
In turn, Klopp has turned his attention to 30-year-old midfielder Endo to help solve his midfield conundrum.

That's according to Romano, who tweeted: "Liverpool submit formal bid to sign Japanese midfielder Wataru Endō on permanent deal.
"Negotiations ongoing with Stuttgart — player wants the move as it’s biggest opportunity of his career.
"Surprising move by Liverpool director Schmadtke."
