A new era is beginning in Liverpool with Arne Slot now at the helm and his tenure includes a new measure which could turn out to be genius.
Slot has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at the Anfield club, moving to Merseyside from Dutch side Feyenoord.
The Dutchman has replaced legendary boss Jurgen Klopp who stood down from his position in the Liverpool dugout this summer after nearly a decade in his position.

During his tenure, Klopp won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup as the Anfield side emerged as the most consistent competitors and threats to Pep Guardiola's all-conquering Manchester City.
Slot is now preparing his squad for the 2024/25 campaign and pre-season training has commenced with the players, excluding those who have been or currently are on international duty, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold with England at Euro 2024, or Darwin Nunez with Uruguay at the Copa America.
Slot has named several members to his coaching staff, including Aaron Briggs as elite development coach, assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff, lead physical performance coach Ruben Peeters, and head of first-team goalkeeper coaching Fabian Otte.

The latter has recently joined the Merseyside outfit from the United States men's team, where he was first team goalkeeping coach and was with them for the Copa America.
Otte has previously held positions with Borussia Monchengladbach, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and head of goalkeeping for the New Zealand women’s national team.
Former goalkeeper Otte has only been at Liverpool for a matter of weeks, but it appears he has introduced a training method for the stoppers which could prove to be genius.

He is employing the use of both noise cancelling headphones and glasses that limit the field of vision when training the goalkeepers, with the intention being to have better confidence with the ball at their feet.
A modern trend is to have goalkeepers play out from the back, and several fans on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter have been quick to praise the decision.

"It makes sense when Slot talked about watching Barca in the prime days. Hope it works for him."

Time will tell if it is a success, but it could prove to be an important move with how the modern game has developed.
