Mo Salah breaks silence on Jurgen Klopp row with damning statement

Mo Salah breaks silence on Jurgen Klopp row with damning statement

Mo Salah and Jurgen Klopp were involved in a furious row on the touchline in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham.

Mo Salah has broken his silence on the spat with Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham.

Following the 2-0 Merseyside derby defeat to Everton on Wednesday, Salah was dropped to the bench for the game at the London Stadium and introduced as a second half substitute.

He was waiting to enter the fray when West Ham equalised through Michail Antonio and TNT Sports cameras picked up a blazing row between the Egyptian and Klopp.

Arms were flailing and plenty of frustrated pointing occured before Darwin Nunez diffused the situation.

In his post-match interview with Jules Breach, Klopp did not want to disclose what was said in the heated exchange but said he and Salah had spoke in the dressing room.

Asked if he could elaborate on what was said, Klopp shook his head and simply responded: "No.

"But we spoke already in the dressing room, and for me that's done."

Salah too declined to reveal details but gave a damning statement in the mixed zone to journalists when he said, “If I speak today there will be fire".

When pressed about there being "fire", he added: "Yes of course" as he walked through with a member of Liverpool's communications department.

It's certainly not a great look for Liverpool, who have lost ground on Premier League title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City after just one league win in their last five outings.

Reds legend Jamie Carragher had his own theory for why Klopp was annoyed, suggesting that Salah wasn't ready to enter the pitch.

Taking to X, he wrote: “The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on.”

Meanwhile ex Liverpool striker Peter Crouch weighed on on TNT Sports, commenting: "It didn't look good, I don't think it looks good for the club. Mo Salah is a player who has started the majority of games for Liverpool and he will be fuming to be on the bench.

“But no-one likes to see this between a manager and a key player.”
