Liverpool's success in reaching the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup in style has led to a BBC presenter apologising, after accidentally making a sexual reference when discussing Jurgen Klopp's celebration.
The Anfield club beat West Ham United 5-1 in midweek in the quarter-finals of the competition to set up a two-legged clash against Fulham in the next round.
Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo, Mo Salah and a brace by Curtis Jones completed a commanding win over the Hammers, with Jarrod Bowen netting what ultimately proved to be nothing more than a consolation for the visitors.

The Carabao Cup now goes on the back-burner for Liverpool until next month, with all focus now on the Premier League and the next test being a mouth-watering clash against leaders Arsenal on Saturday evening.
After the midweek victory, Klopp performed a trademark celebration at full-time which has been seen time and again during his reign at Anfield, even if the German wasn't overly impressed with the level of support on this occasion.
The German typically approaches the Kop, the stand with the club's most steadfast support, and repeatedly pumps his fists to them as they respond with repeated loud cheers.

Images of that celebration were shown by the BBC in its News at One programme and journalist Chetan Pathak delivered the day's sports news.
However, the newsreader made an unfortunate error during the live broadcast, which he has since apologised for. You can watch the clip for yourselves below.
Discussing Klopp's celebration, he said: "We saw him fisting… bumping his fists in the air there."

Obviously, this is a reference to a sexual act and the journalist has since been on social media to admit the error and apologise as he explained the lesson he has learned from the moment after attempting to ad-lib the section rather than read straight from his autocue.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Chetan wrote: "My apologies, lesson learnt. The next time I think I’ll ad-lib a story, I’ll stick to what’s written on the autocue."
At least a lesson has been learnt from the unfortunate episode and x-rated gaffe.
