Darwin Nunez sparked reaction on social media after being spotted not clapping during Jurgen Klopp’s farewell party.
The Uruguayan endured a difficult end to the Premier League season, being restricted to substitute appearances in five of his last six games as Liverpool ended Klopp’s final campaign in third.
Nunez was the first player off the pitch during the 4-2 win against Tottenham after a disappointing display and sent the rumour mill into overdrive hours later by deleting almost every Liverpool related picture from his Instagram account.

Question marks remain over his future and the 24-year-old was criticised on social media after being spotted not clapping during Klopp’s guard of honour at Anfield on Sunday after the 2-0 win against Wolves.
X user @YNWAMatt wrote alongside the clip of Nunez: “Every player clapped as Klopp made his way through the guard of honour. All except one. The same player that couldn't have looked less interested during his final post-match team talk.”
He added: “He clapped for every other player and member of staff that walked through but made a point of not doing so for Klopp.”

However, footage from Klopp’s farewell party later that evening suggests there is absolutely no bad blood between the pair.
The German was recorded dancing alongside his squad, with Nunez pushing his manager into the middle of the circle as his teammates chanted and encouraged him to keep dancing.
Here's how fans on social media have reacted to footage.
One said: “Darwin Nunez last night dancing with Klopp, oh wait nothing will be said because it’s not slander against his name.

Fans are so over the top when it comes to a bloke not clapping and then assume he’s a bad person which needs to be sold. Grow up.”
Another added: “To those slating Nunez for not clapping at Klopp's guard of honour, here's a screenshot of him dancing with Klopp at the party just a few hours later! Stop trying to create headlines and back the lad! We're better than that.”
A third said: “Nunez pushing Klopp into the middle of the dance floor with a big smile back. Think people have got the wrong end of the stick.”
As reported by The Times’ Paul Joyce, Nunez was brought to Anfield from Benfica due to Klopp who saw his quality first-hand in the Champions League.

The report claims the club’s recruitment team preferred Christopher Nkunku who later joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig but Klopp pushed for Nunez to be signed instead.
