Trent Alexander-Arnold exchange with Arne Slot at full-time whistle of Brentford win has got everyone talking

Trent Alexander-Arnold exchange with Arne Slot at full-time whistle of Brentford win has got everyone talking

Fans noticed the conversation between the pair during Liverpool's win.

Liverpool fans couldn't help notice the frosty exchange between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Arne Slot during Liverpool's win against Brentford.

Arne Slot got his first home win as Liverpool manager on Sunday as his side beat Brentford 2-0.

Luis Diaz put Liverpool ahead after just 13 minutes at Anfield, finishing off a ruthless break from defence with a thumping strike.

Liverpool spurned a number of chances before Mohamed Salah finally got their second, calmly slotting past Mark Flekken to secure the three points.

Liverpool were very impressive in their first home outing under Slot, and really should have scored more than twice.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was particularly impressive, with the full-back effectively playing as a right-sided No.10 when his side had possession.

The 25-year-old wasn't best pleased to be withdrawn in the 72nd minute along with Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, and fans noticed his disinterested reaction when Slot spoke to him on the bench.

The England international has entered the final year of his contract, and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The footage of his frosty interaction with Slot certainly didn't ease fears that he could be on his way out of Anfield.

"He's definitely off to Madrid," one fan commented on X, while another described Trent's reaction as "You're not my dad vibes."

Another fan wrote: "He keeps moping around like that he’ll be in the u21’s. Salah, Virgil van Dijk being professional with their futures up in the air but he's there sulking."

That said, some fans didn't want to make too much of the incident.

"It's because he was subbed off, he wanted to finish the game," one supporter concluded.

Another said: "I think Slot saw that he's winning the match and decided to take off Diaz, Jota then Trent and Salah to protect them ahead of the United game."
