Fans have discovered the English club Arne Slot had an offer to join prior to Liverpool and things could have been very, very different.
Slot took the reins at Liverpool in the summer, replacing Jurgen Klopp and penning a three-year contract. With just the one signing in the ineffective Federico Chiesa, the Dutchman has taken Liverpool up another gear and they are now top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables.
Liverpool have lost just one game so far under Slot and now find themselves in a brilliant position to claim a second Premier League title after going nine points clear following the impressive victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

The 46-year-old has calmly went about his business, focusing on elite coaching to improve the squad and see immediate results.
But things could have gone down a different route for Slot. In 2023, he received interest from Leeds United, who were in need of a swift replacement for Jesse Marsh after sacking him following a seven-game run without a win.
He wasn't initially on their shortlist as they did not think he was available but decided to at least test the waters when they were knocked back from other candidates.

Slot appreciated the interest but decided to reject Leeds' advances in order to stay put with Feyenoord, issuing a statement to stress his commitment.
"The club has been clear," Slot said in a press conference ahead of a clash with Heerenveen.
It was a compliment that a club like Leeds was interested, but we are doing something great with Feyenoord. We are in a great position in the league, the cup and Europe.
"There is no disappointment. It's certainly not a punishment to stay here."

Slot went on to win the league with Feyenoord that season, while Leeds proceeded to rattle through managers. Javi Gracia was appointed in February but sacked by May, with Sam Allardyce taking charge of four games and suffering relegation for the first time in his career.
Leeds then hired Daniel Farke, who led Leeds to the Championship play-off final but experienced defeat to Southampton at Wembley.
Slot signed off at Feyenoord with a KNVB Cup to follow up an Eredivisie title and now has an insane 90% win ratio at Liverpool, having claimed 18 victories from 20 games.

Some fans have only just realised that Slot could have coached Leeds instead of the Reds, with one commenting on X: "Crazy how Arne Slot was close to joining Spurs and Leeds, they almost hit the jackpot."
While another Leeds supporter added: "Arne Slot turned us down. Imagine if he hadn't."
