Leicester City are reportedly in talks to bring in a former Premier League manager in what could be a controversial appointment.
The Foxes lost manager Enzo Maresca after the Italian was lured away by Chelsea.
A statement from the club read: “Leicester City Football Club can today confirm the departure of Enzo Maresca from his position as First Team Manager.

“Given the promising foundations established during his single season in charge, the Club is disappointed that Enzo has decided at this stage that he no longer wants to be part of our vision.”
Since then, Leicester have been linked with the likes of Graham Potter and Thomas Frank.
On Wednesday morning, it was claimed that Leicester are in advance talks to bring in former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper.

As reported by The Telegraph, the Foxes are in talks with Cooper and hope to appoint him this week.
The report stated: “The club consider Cooper to be by far the best option for the season, and are optimistic that they can survive despite obvious obstacles.
“They lost Enzo Maresca to Chelsea last month with the Italian having won promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Cooper is a free agent having been dismissed by Forest.”
However, the Leicester fanbase has been divided due to Cooper's stint as Nottingham Forest manager.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Steve Cooper you have to be joking me. Cancelling my season ticket immediately.”
Another tweeted: “If he gets appointed, expect Leicester City to struggle to remain in the EPL. you can bookmark this…”
A third fan added: “I know he has Forest connections but he has proved that he could do a job in the Prem, back him.”
