Kylian Mbappe showed no sympathy as he teased Xavi Simons after the Dutchman's goal was ruled out by VAR.
The Netherlands and France battled to a 0-0 draw in a crucial match at the 2024 European Championships on Friday night.
With both teams capable of securing the top spot in Group D, the result could prove crucial to each side’s potential opponents in the round of 16, should they qualify.

Unfortunately, the match was overshadowed after a 70th minute winner from Dutch youngster Xavi Simons which was controversially disallowed by VAR.
And, speaking after the match to Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum, French superstar Kylian Mbappe didn’t hold back from teasing the Dutch players.
Joking as Simons approached the group, Mbappe said: “He was thinking he was killing us!”

Simons was ecstatic after scoring his first goal of the tournament and putting his team on top of their group.
But the goal was later disallowed after teammate Denzel Dumfries was deemed to be obstructing French goalkeeper Mike Maignan while standing in an offside position.
After the joke, Mbappe and Simons embraced seconds later, so the Dutchman clearly understood that his opponent was just messing around and didn’t take the comment to heart.
The goal would have been Simons’ second-ever goal for The Netherlands, who he has made 15 appearances for his country since his debut in December 2022.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Dutch manager Ronald Koeman made his thoughts about the decision clear.
He said: “I think the position of Dumfries is offside but he isn't disturbing the goalkeeper. When that happens, it is a legal goal in my opinion.
“Also, you need five minutes to check it? I don't understand this."

Liverpool and Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk has also been critical of the referees, saying: “We scored a goal that is a fair goal. He had no chance to get into that corner. But yeah, the English referee decided not to give it."
Premier League referee Anthony Taylor was in charge of the fixture, with Stuart Attwell the VAR official.
The result means both The Netherlands and France will need to win their final group stage match on Tuesday if they hope to head into the knockout stages as the top seed from Group D.
