Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce have beaten Roma to the signing of a 20-goal a season striker.
Mourinho joined Fenerbahce last month and has been tasked with claiming the club’s first Turkish Super Lig title since 2013-14.
Last term the Istanbul outfit garnered 99 points, winning 31 times and losing just once in 38 league encounters, only to miss out to bitter rivals Galatasaray.

But Mourinho’s arrival has brought new hope to Fenerbahce, with his unveiling in June attracting thousands to the club’s Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
And having already signed ex-Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin on loan, sport journalist Nicolo Schira has claimed the club are getting closer to bringing in Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri ahead of Mourinho’s former club Roma.
Last year En-Nesyri scored 20 goals in all competitions, including 16 goals in La Liga.

Schira initially said in a Tweet: “Fenerbahce are in advanced talks with #Sevilla for Youssef #EnNesyri. The Morrocan player has already given his availability to Jose Mourinho, who wants to sign a new striker. Talks in progress to try to reach a deal on the salary.”
He later added: “Youssef En Nesyri is getting closer and closer to Fenerbahçe. Agreed personal terms for a contract until 2028 (€5M/year). Fener have overtaken #ASRoma and two Saudi Clubs: Fenerbahce are now working to reach an agreement with #Sevilla, which ask 20M to sell the striker.”
Upon joining Fenerbahce, Mourinho declared: “This shirt is now my skin. Your dreams are now my dreams.”

The ex-Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager has made quick work of bolstering his side.
Already Fenerbahce have signed ex-Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu, AC Milan midfielder Rade Krunic, and Turkish full-back Levent Mercan.
