Mauro Icardi has hit back at Jose Mourinho’s recent comments about Galatasaray.
Back in June, former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss Mourinho was confirmed as the new manager of Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce.
The Portuguese had been out of a job since he was sacked by Italian Serie A side AS Roma back in January.
However, it has been a tough start for the ‘Special One’ after Fenerbahce were knocked out of the Champions League by French side Lille on Tuesday night.

Lille won 2-1 at home before drawing 1-1 in Istanbul to seal a 3-2 aggregate win.
To make matters worse for Mourinho, Galatasaray star Icardi has now hit back at the 61-year-old’s recent comments.
Mourinho accused referees of handing favourable treatment to Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk.
As per Turkiye Today, Mourinho said: “Galatasaray Technical Director does not see a card when he enters the pitch 4 metres but I see a card when I enter 1 meter.”

Responding to Mourinho’s words, Icardi said: “It’s interesting to see a coach of Mourinho’s stature talk about something so insignificant. He wouldn’t do this at a big club.
“Everyone knows we have a rivalry with Fenerbahce. Social media is just another tool of communication. A lot has happened off the field in the past year, but we focused on the game and won the championship two years in a row. They tried to stop us, but they failed. Maybe this bothers them.”
He added: “We will fight together against everyone. I don’t think it’s sensible to discuss these matters so early in the season.”

After being knocked out of the Champions League, Mourinho said: “We lose economically because the Champions League obviously is an important boost to the club and we lose the chance to play against the biggest teams in the world.
“But we would never win the Champions League. We would never reach the Champions League final. Never.”
He continued: “But we go to Europa League and in Europa League if... if... I don’t want to say the rest . I prefer to stay on the ifs. But if we can do a great Europa League. If, if, if. But we can do a great Europa League with if. I can’t speak more than the if. If not, I am in trouble.”
