Ex-England star Joleon Lescott pulled apart from rival as brawl erupts after nasty Baller League tackle

Joleon Lescott was sent off following his clash with Domingos Pires.

Joleon Lescott lost his cool as he had to be pulled apart from his opponent during an explosive Baller League moment.

Lescott, a two-time Premier League winner, joined the Baller League as a wildcard pick last month.

The ex-Manchester City defender signed for Deportrio, who are managed by punditry trio Micah Richards, Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker.

Lescott started his career with Wolves before signing for Everton. He moved to Man City in the summer of 2009, making 160 appearances for the Blues - winning the Premier League on two occasions.

He called time on his glittering career in 2007, aged 34.

But he has since returned to action in the shape of the Baller League - a weekly indoor six-a-side football tournament.

And in Monday's round of fixtures, Deportrio beat Wembley Rangers, who are managed by Chloe Kelly and Ian Wright.

The game, however, will be remembered for the fiery incident between Lescott and Domingos Pires that sparked a huge brawl.

Pires caught Lescott with a late challenge as he tried to intercept a pass.

But Pires' tackle angered Lescott, who clashed with his rival.

They grabbed each other's shirt before spilling off the pitch.

A Baller League official and Wembley players intervened, separating Lescott from Pires.

After the situation was defused, both Lescott and Pires were sent off the pitch for two minutes.

Lescott had the last laugh as Deportrio ran out 4-1 winners.

It's not the first time a former Premier League star has been shown a red card in the Baller League.

In last week's schedule, Troy Deeney, formerly of Watford, was sent off for a reckless tackle on Tareiq Holmes-Dennis.

His debut did not last long as Deeney was forced to sit out the rest of the action following his nasty tackle.

Deeney was representing Wembley.
