Duco Telgenkamp fired home the winning shot past Germany's Jean-Paul Danneberg, sparking wild celebrations from the Dutch players.
However, things soon turned ugly when Telgenkamp made a shushing gesture towards the German goalkeeper and slapped his helmet as he turned away to celebrate.
The German players were furious and immediately confronted the 22-year-old. Both sets of players and staff clashed as the Netherlands' Floris Middendorp had to prevent Germany's Niklas Wellen from getting to Telgenkamp.

The latter continued to provoke the Germany by sticking his tongue out as sections of the crowd booed.
The match-winner later apologised for overshadowing his side's hard-earned victory.
"In hindsight, I shouldn’t have gone to him. I regret that. I also apologise," he said.

"I should have let it go and it wasn’t very smart. But it’s also a bit the nature of the beast. I can be very cool-headed, but I can also let myself go. Is that part of it?
"He affected me personally. Sports are not business, it doesn’t take much to be provoked. That’s how I go into the match. I felt a bit offended."
Germany's Christopher Ruhr claimed the Netherlands team were 'lucky' to win the gold medal match.
"We deserved to win the gold medal. It was an incredibly close match that came down to the shoot-out," Ruhr said.
