A clip of Jermaine Jenas speaking about "securing the coin" has picked up millions of views on social media amid the news of his sacking.
The 41-year-old, who presented The One Show and appeared on Match of the Day for the BBC, has been taken off air from both primetime shows following complaints about workplace conduct.
The BBC claim issues involving digital communications such as texts were raised with the corporation a few weeks ago.

A report from The Mirror has suggested that the former Newcastle United and Spurs midfielder has been sacked over claims of 'unsolicited inappropriate texts involving a female employee of The One Show'.
A source via the publication added: “It’s a very sensitive landscape at the BBC at the moment with the various scandals that have beset it of late. Any hint of workplace misconduct and they needed to come down on like a ton of bricks.”
A BBC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up.”

Jenas, meanwhile, is 'battling' to clear his name. Speaking on talkSPORT’s Drivetime show after news of his sacking emerged, the former midfielder declared he is "not happy" and is taking legal advice.
"I can’t really talk about it,” he said. “I, as you can probably see, am not happy about it. But currently as it stands I'm going to have to let the lawyers deal with it.
"You know, there's two sides to every story as we know. So that's all I can say right now."
Amid the ongoing controversy, an old video of Jenas speaking about "securing the coin" continues to be a talking point online.
