Jermaine Jenas facing fresh allegations after BBC sacking as 'multiple women' come forward with new claims

Jermaine Jenas facing fresh allegations after BBC sacking as 'multiple women' come forward with new claims

Jermaine Jenas was sacked by the BBC on Thursday.

Jermaine Jenas is facing fresh allegations of 'inappropriate behaviour' from multiple women following his sacking by the BBC.

On Thursday the BBC confirmed that it had sacked Jenas after investigating allegations of inappropriate behaviour in the workplace involving digital communications with a female colleague.

A BBC spokesperson said: "We can confirm Jermaine Jenas is no longer part of our presenting line up."

Jenas was the co-host of BBC One talk show The One Show and was a regular pundit and occasional host on Match of the Day.

The 41-year-old former footballer was seen as the natural successor to Gary Lineker as host of the iconic Premier League highlights programme.

Now, according to several reports, 'multiple women' have come forward since Jenas was sacked with new claims of inappropriate behaviour.

On Thursday Jenas told talkSPORT in an interview: "Look, I can’t really talk about it. I, as you can probably see, I am not happy about it.

"But currently, as it stands, I’m going to have to let the lawyers deal with it. You know, there’s two sides to every story, as we know. So, that’s all I can say right now."

Jenas' agency M&C Saatchi has removed his profile from their website.

The former Tottenham and England midfielder earned £190,000 – £194,999 per year for his work with BBC Sport and was named Women's Football Ally of the Year at the 2024 Women's Football Awards.

Jenas presented a one-off show on radio station talkSPORT just 20 minutes after his dismissal by the BBC was announced.

A TalkSport spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a breaking news story involving Jermaine Jenas as he went on air for a one-off presenting slot on talkSPORT Drive. We made a decision – with Jermaine – that he should continue to present the show.

"Given the array of serious allegations being reported as the story continues to evolve, it’s for Jermaine as a private individual to address them in the way he chooses. There are no plans for Jermaine to broadcast as a presenter on TalkSport in the immediate future."

SPORTbible has contacted Jenas' representatives regarding the fresh allegations made against him.
